Democrats Continue To Fight For Their Preferred Constituents: Illegal Aliens

Democrats, and the mainstream media by extension, having been going to the mat for Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, the El Salvadoran national who was deported back to the Central American country while being accused by the U.S. government of being an MS-13 gang member.

In the time since he was sent back home, Democrats and the MSM have been calling Abrego Garcia a “wrongly deported Maryland father.” Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) traveled to El Salvador today to pressure the Salvadoran government to release him or at least to be able to see him in prison. He was unable to meet with or call Abrego Garcia. Other House and Senate Democrats are planning official Congressional delegations to El Salvador as well.

Keep in mind, Democrats avoided Congressional hearings and visits to our own southern border during the Biden-Harris border crisis. I know because I never saw them from 2021-2024.

Here are the facts of Abrego Garcia’s case:

• He illegally entered the U.S. in 2012.

• It was only after he was arrested in 2019 and was affirmed to be a MS-13 member during his removal proceedings, he then made an asylum claim. That claim was so he could not be deported to El Salvador specifically.

• He claimed a rival gang, 18th Street, was threatening his family back in El Salvador.

• He was granted a withholding of removal to El Salvador, but his asylum claim was not granted.

In the end, despite the last-minute claims, Abrego Garcia had no legal basis to remain in the U.S. and his claim to not be sent back to El Salvador is no longer valid because the 18th Street gang, like MS-13, has been wiped out by President Nayib Bukele’s crackdown on organized crime.

That does not even begin to address whether he is a MS-13 member. There is evidence beyond just a police informant telling officers he was a member. And while he was here, his now-wife petitioned a court in Maryland for protective orders against him for alleged domestic violence.

Despite all of this, Democrats and their media stenographers insist his deportation was unjust. What is happening today is just a continuation of the disastrous border and immigration policies from the Biden-Harris administration. I’ve said it before, while President Donald Trump was good at moving the needle within the Republican Party on immigration, it also caused Democrats to go to the extreme left.

This is because Democrats have to be the opposite of Trump on most things and immigration is one they can absolutely show no similarity. Trump wanted a wall, Democrats said no wall. Trump wants mass deportations, Democrats carried out mass importations.

The reasons we’re in this mess today are due to the open border policies of the previous four years. It was deliberate. It was not happening to us, it was being done to us. It’s why Trump won a second term despite the odds, but it means Democrats will use any excuse, no matter how thin, to try to jam up the solutions to this big problem. Democrats know they can’t acknowledge why the southern border is suddenly secured without needing to pass an open border bill, so they focus on non-issues.

Thankfully, the American people are seeing who the Left prioritizes once again. And while Republicans are not completely innocent of taking advantage of U.S. taxpayers, it is not to the egregious level of barely acknowledging the murder of one of your constituents while traveling to a foreign country to bring back an illegal alien, like in today’s case of Van Hollen.
