Black Friday Shopping Disruptions For Gaza Fall Flat
NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. — Far-left and anti-Israel groups talked a big game about preventing shoppers from taking part in Black Friday but when it came time to do something about it, they did not change people’s minds.
As I previously reported, a coalition of far-left organizations said they wanted to stop money from being spent in order to hurt the U.S. economy so less aid is sent to aid Israel in their ongoing war against Hamas.
“We’re saying that we’re disrupting this economy. We’re distorting this picture of economic health because…we know that economic health is coming at the cost of the millions or billions of people who are living under the thumb of U.S. imperialism around the world,” said Miriam Osman, an organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement.
The rally started at Washington Square Park and speeches were typical of past protests: calls for a permanent ceasefire, an end to the state of Israel, blaming the U.S. for everything, and wanting to globalize the Intifada. Then the march got underway.
